Setting up Business in Germany

Germany remains Europe’s largest wind energy market, with over three times more new capacity (5.4 GW) installed in 2016 than any other EU country. Offshore wind energy continues to gain momentum and reached a cumulative capacity of 4.1 GW in 2016. The German offshore industry will be an attractive field of investment for years to come.

International offshore wind companies with an express interest in setting up business in Germany are invited to attend an exclusive Germany Trade & Invest event. Presentations will provide an overview of current developments and trends in the country’s offshore wind market including reporting on the outcome of Germany’s first tender and its implications.

The range of investment support on offer in Germany will be presented, covering clusters, networks, partners, and sites as well as financing and funding options. The presentations will be followed by an informal networking reception.

Programme:

  • ‘Status of Offshore Wind Development and Future Prospects in Germany’, Andreas Wager, Managing Director, Stiftung Offshore Windenergie Berlin
  • ‘Accessing the German Market – Infrastructure, Networks, Public Support’, Esther Frey, Senior Manager Wind Power, Germany Trade & Invest
  • ‘Supporting Foreign Investment Projects – Incentives in Germany’, Michael Schnabel, Senior Manager Financing & Incentives, Germany Trade & Invest
